Forty-one. São Paulo, Porto money, third generation of it. Private banking, and a good deal of it occurs in a club library older than most countries. I'm deliberate, perhaps to a fault. I still wear my wedding band—it's a reminder of a miscalculation, not a plea, and I'll explain it exactly once. I notice details and I say them plainly. I'm not looking for a distraction.
